Deputy nabs alleged ‘Coastside Tagger’

You’re it, tagger!

Authorities believe they’ve caught the “Coastside Tagger” responsible for nearly a dozen crimes of vandalism during the past three months in El Granada and Moss Beach.

Zach Ayers, 28, of Moss Beach, was busted Sunday after surveillance video allegedly caught him tagging a truck, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Owen Yoch arrested Ayers on two felony and nine misdemeanor charges, authorities said. He allegedly used the tags “GAZ,” “SIC,” “FONZ,” “WOR,” “MBK” and “WAX,” they said.

The felony charges involved two vehicles that had sustained over $1,500.00 in damage, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators are asking anyone with additional information about this case to call San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Detective Jim Gilletti at (650) 363-4066.
