Entrants seeking to endure the annual 7-mile ING Bay to Breakers footrace accompanied by a celebratory float must submit an application by April 30.
For the first time in the 99-year history of The City’s annual Bay to Breakers race, participants will be required to pay a $250 fee for entering a float.
However, the registration comes with wristbands for up to 20 participants, a setup that could potentially be a deal from the normal registration price, which is $35 for the first 3,000 people, $44 for adults who registered by March 31 and $48 for all others.
The registration fees go toward offsetting the public costs of staging the race, which last year totaled more than $420,000. — Will Reisman
