Police seek suspects in South City box-cutter slashing

Bay City News 10/5/08

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – Police are searching for two suspects today who slashed a 17-year-old South San Francisco resident in the face and neck with a box
cutter in the city Saturday night.

About 8:25 p.m., South San Francisco officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Linden Avenue on the report of a possible stabbing. When the officers arrived, they discovered the teen had been slashed across the face and neck area.

The victim was confronted by two male youths, one of whom was holding the box cutter, police reported. The two suspects allegedly made gang-related comments and there was an altercation between the suspect with the box cutter and the victim. The victim was able to wrestle the weapon away from the teen and the two suspects fled the area.

The suspects are described as being between about 16 to 18 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with slender builds. They were clothed entirely in black.

The victim, who sustained non-life-threatening lacerations, was transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

Any witnesses to this incident are asked to contact the South San Francisco Police Department at (650) 877-8900.
