Chilling video released by the San Francisco Police Department on Wednesday showed 46-year-old Elia Cruz walking with her arm around a man just moments before she was stabbed to death in her Tenderloin apartment.
Just before 2 a.m. Oct. 21, officers responded to a call about a disturbance in the 400 block of Eddy Street and found Cruz dead in her home, police said. Homicide investigators say they are still hunting for the killer — specifically, they are hoping to have a long chat with a man who was seen entering the apartment with Cruz just before her death.
On Wednesday, police released sketches and video surveillance footage showing Cruz being affectionate with a man as they walked along a sidewalk. Later, the video shows the man hurriedly leaving the area.
Police are encouraging the public to view the footage online at www.sanfranciscopolice.org. A sketch of the suspect, a video, stills from the video and a photo of Cruz are located on the website’s The Line-Up page.
