Two men posing as eager customers instead became armed robbers Wednesday morning.

Valuable items such as gems, a statue and a picture, along with cash, were stolen during a stun-gun stickup of a consignment store in the 3700 block of Mission Street near Bernal Heights, police said.

One of the two suspects had reportedly called the store on Tuesday requesting that it open two hours early on Wednesday to accommodate 
them. The shopkeeper agreed, police Officer Gordon Shyy said, and it led to a terrifying experience for two employees.

Five minutes after opening, the robbers, who were only described as men in their 40s or 50s wearing black clothing, stormed in with stun guns blazing, Shyy said. They forced two employees into the back office and ransacked the store, making off with the loot.

Thankfully, Shyy said, no one was hurt during the heist. Police declined to release the value of the stolen items, 
saying only that they were “high-priced.”

“One of the suspects, it appears, may have been a previous customer,” Shyy said.
