Home break-ins this week might have had the hallmarks of a classic children’s comedy, but the incidents were no laughing matter for the kids involved.

Police are hunting creeps who  climbed into homes in the Bayview-Hunters Point area and came face-to-face with terrified kids. An incident at 8 a.m. Monday played out like a real-life version of “Home Alone” for a 12-year-old girl who lives in the 1600 block of Quesada Avenue, police said.

Thankfully, the burglar was actually spooked by the child and fled without harming her.

Cops swarmed the neighborhood just east of Third Street in an effort to nab the suspect, police said, but he was not located. The child told cops she heard the doorbell ring and looked outside, but saw no one. She then heard banging on a gate and ran in fear to her parents’ bedroom, hiding in a closet.

The intruder successfully broke in and entered her parents’ room, exclaiming, “Jackpot!” police said.

Terror truly set in for the youngster when the creep opened the closet door to find the girl. She asked him not to hurt her, police said.

He reportedly told the girl, “If you don’t tell anyone, I won’t hurt you.”

The intruder then fled the home. It appears he stole nothing, police said, and the suspect remained at large as of Thursday.

The next morning, investigators were out again on a report that a teenager had been spooked by an intruder, this time in the 700 block of Kirkwood Avenue.

A 15-year-old boy said he was asleep in bed when he was startled awake by an intruder pocketing his cellphone about 4:45 a.m., police said. The suspect fled after noticing the teen was awake.

The victim’s mother, who was in the kitchen, saw the suspect run through the apartment and flee out the front door, police said.
