A suspect fleeing from police intentionally rammed his vehicle into a San Francisco police officers' vehicle when the officers responded to an incident in Oakland on Wednesday evening, San Francisco police said.

Plainclothes officers from the San Francisco Police Department's Violence Reduction Unit responded to Oakland at around 6 p.m. on reports that a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping may be in the area.

The suspect was spotted near 45th Avenue and International Boulevard, police said.

Police said the suspect appeared to recognize the responding officers and intentionally rammed their vehicle with his own while fleeing the scene.

No one was injured during the assault, police said.

The suspect is still at large and Oakland police are investigating the incident.
