Nearly a dozen bullets were fired toward an apartment building in San Francisco's Hunters Point neighborhood on Saturday morning but no one was injured, police said.

The shooting was reported at about 11 a.m. in the first block of Northridge Road.

A resident said he was sitting in his car when he heard gunfire, then looked up to see someone with a handgun firing toward a building on the street, according to police.

The suspect then got into the passenger side of a gold two-door Lexus with no plates and tinted windows, and fled west on Northridge then south on Ingalls Street, police said.

Police responded and found 11 spent casings in the area but did not receive any reports of damage to the building or injuries to people inside.

A short time later, the Lexus was found abandoned in the 1000 block of Griffith Street.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, which is being investigated by the Police Department's gang task force.
