Police are searching for a man they say robbed a woman who was walking to the South San Francisco BART station Thursday morning.
The woman was walking through the Winston Manor Shopping Center on Hickey Boulevard at 6 a.m. Thursday when police say a man approached her from behind, placed what the woman believes was a gun against her back, and demanded her belongings, according to South San Francisco Police.
Another man was allegedly waiting in a vehicle nearby and the two fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between age 25 and 30, about 5’ 10” tall, about 180 pounds, with a stocky build. The man is believed to be bald without facial hair, spoke with a strong accent and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Police believe the getaway car was a red or maroon 4-door sedan, possibly an older model Toyota with a license plate beginning with “6X.”
Anyone with information should call South San Francisco Police at (650) 877-8900.
