A man found in the bushes near St. Mary's Cathedral Monday morning likely committed suicide, a San Francisco police spokesman said.
A passerby spotted the unidentified body at Geary Boulevard and Gough Street and called police around 7:30 a.m., Officer Albie Esparza said.
A gun was also found at the scene, according to KTVU.
An official cause of death is pending an evaluation from the San Francisco medical examiner's office, Esparza said.
