Muni shut down, guns found after police called to the Bayview

A report about a man with gun shut down the Muni-T-Third line Tuesday evening, according to San Francisco police.

Muni’s T-Third light-rail line at Third and Palou streets was disrupted at around 5:20 pm “due to police activity,” according to the transit agency. Several other Muni business lines were also impacted. Twenty minutes later serve resumed as normal.

The San Francisco Police Department said a report came in around 5:11 pm about a man with a gun. Police responded, detained several people at the scene and found two guns on the ground.

No arrests have yet been made, but the investigation is ongoing.

The intersection of Third and Palou streets was in July the scene of an officer-involved shooting in which Kenneth Harding, a wanted parolee, was fatally wounded by a gun he was carrying.
