Six suspects in the fatal shooting of a tourist near Union Square are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in San Francisco Superior Court.

The alleged gangsters are accused of engaging in a chaotic shootout in August that killed German elementary school teacher Mechthild Schröer, 50. Schröer, vacationing with her husband, was caught in the crossfire. Two other innocent bystanders were shot and injured.

Schröer died on the sidewalk in her husband’s arms. The couple had been on a three-week U.S. vacation to celebrate their wedding anniversary and Mechthild’s birthday. At the time of the shooting, they were searching for a restaurant.

The defendants include Phillip Stewart, 19, Delvon Royal Scott, 20, Willie Charles Eason, 19, Marcus Blueford, 19, Gethsemane Pita, 18, and Raheem Jackson, 17, who is being charged as an adult.

A seventh suspect’s name was not released because he is being tried as a juvenile.
