A woman suffered severe cuts on her face during a shooting that shattered glass in the Bayview district Wednesday afternoon, police said.

“Initially, cops saw the blood from her head and thought she had been shot in the face,” police spokesman Officer Eric Chiang said.

The gunfire rang out at 1593 Thomas Ave. at around 3:50 p.m.

Further information on the shooting was not immediately available.

It was the second shooting in The City on Wednesday. Three hours earlier, a man was shot in the Mission district. He was expected to survive.
