Caltrain strikes pedestrian in Mountain View

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Caltrain at the San Antonio station in Mountain View Wednesday evening, a transit agency spokeswoman said.

Southbound train No. 264 struck and killed the man at about 5:10 p.m. at the station, located at Showers Drive and San Antonio Road, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew. There was no report of injuries to any occupants of the train.

Passengers boarded another train and bus bridges are being coordinated with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority to transport
commuters between Mountain View and Palo Alto.

Trains were being single-tracked through the area at about 7 p.m. and Bartholomew said there were delays of about 51 minutes.
