Peninsula: Menlo Park

Ordered at gunpoint:

Ordered at gunpoint: Approximately 6:33 p.m. Monday, police received several 9-1-1 calls reporting a robbery in progress in the 700 block of Pierce Road. Officers quickly responded to the area and made contact with two victims.

The victims told officers that the first victim had walked out of his residence to his vehicle to get some items when he was approached by two subjects, both armed with handguns. The suspects ordered him, at gunpoint, back into his residence where the victim’s girlfriend was inside. Once inside, the suspects held both victims at gunpoint, threatening them harm unless they followed their orders. The suspects then removed several electronic items as well as an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. Officers searched the area and failed to locate the suspects.

Violent robber:

At 7 p.m. Nov. 14, police received a call from an employee of the Pacific Supermarket on Callan Boulevard. A shoplifter had been apprehended for stealing candy and was hitting the store employees in the office.

San Francisco: Richmond: Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park

Armed robbery:

At 4:39 a.m. Nov. 11, three men wearing masks and armed with handguns entered a drug store in the 5200 block of Geary Boulevard. One of the men demanded cash while pointing a gun at an employee. The men, who were all wearing dark clothing, then fled to a vehicle and drove west on Geary Boulevard. The vehicle was described as a light-colored four-door sedan.

Locker theft:

At 5:15 p.m. Nov. 12, a City College police officer was sent to investigate a theft case on campus. Six students told the officer that while in gym class, an unknown person had broken into their lockers and stolen all of their wallets. No suspects were observed.

San Francisco: Taraval: Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Just a cell phone:

At 8 p.m. Nov. 9, a man and a woman at Stonestown galleria in the 3200 block of 20th Avenue were arguing over a cell phone while the woman was in the company of a small child. The man then threatened the woman with bodily harm and kept her from leaving the area. Stonestown security intervened and the man threatened a security officer. The man then ran away, but was chased down by officers. He violently resisted arrest. The Oakland resident was arrested for criminal threats, false imprisonment, resisting arrest and a marijuana warrant from Alameda County.

Straight razor:

At 11:07 p.m. Nov. 9, a man ran into the lobby of the police station to report that someone in a bar in the 700 block of Vallejo Street was being assaulted with a knife. Officers responded and saw two people across the street from the station near the alley and called for them to stop. One 24-year-old San Francisco man was bleeding from a gash on his neck. A 51-year-old woman was detained and a bloody straight razor was found nearby. The man said he attempted to talk with the woman in the bar when she took a swing at him, contacting his face and neck. The woman was booked for attempted homicide, due to the weapon and injury.

San Francisco: Taraval: Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park

Dangerous driving:

At 2:15 p.m. Nov. 9, officers observed a driver operating a vehicle recklessly on 19th Avenue, weaving in and out of traffic, driving within a few feet of vehicles, and quickly swerving across numerous lanes of traffic. The officers followed the vehicle as the driver passed numerous cars on Interstate 280 by accessing the shoulder of the highway. The officers finally stopped the driver and found that he was on parole, was in possession of marijuana and was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. He was arrested and his Jeep was towed.

Poor braking skills:

At 1:42 a.m. Friday, officers observed a driver slam on their brakes while approaching a red light at Santa Marina and Mission streets. The officers stopped the vehicle. When an officer approached the driver, she could smell alcohol. The driver failed a field sobriety test and was taken in for booking. While officers were inspecting the driver’s property, they discovered what they suspected was cocaine. The driver was charged with possession.

Suspicious behavior:

At 10:45 p.m. Nov. 11, plainclothes officers were near Fourth Avenue and Fulton Street due to auto burglaries in the area. They observed two men walking east on Fulton Street, looking into parked vehicles. The men continued this behavior for several blocks and were detained by the officers. One of the men was in possession of narcotics and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The other man was released.

San Francisco: Bayview: Bayview, Hunters Point

Cane attack:

At 9:20 a.m. Nov. 8, officers responded to Dakota Street regarding a report of an assault with a stick. The officers located a man who was holding a towel to his head, where he had two large gashes and was bleeding profusely. The man told officers that he got into an argument with his wife when a neighbor came out of his house and hit the man in the side of the head with a cane. The officers called for a medic, who transported the man to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment. The officers searched the area for the neighbor, to no avail. The investigation is ongoing.
