Man arrested for false alarm

A 42-year-old San Francisco man claiming he was beaten and robbed Tuesday was arrested for making a false report of an emergency.The man summoned emergency crews in the area of Haight and Stanyan streets around 2:30 a.m., police said.Fire Department paramedics found no injuries, police said.Police took the man into custody after discovering he was wanted on two local misdemeanor warrants for the same type of incident, police said.

Police arrested a suspected burglar who broke into an occupied apartment in the North of the Panhandle district Monday morning.A woman asleep in the apartment in the 600 block of Central Avenue said she at first thought her cat was playing with a curtain around 9:30 a.m. But she realized it was a burglar after she watched her bedroom door open and then shut, police said.

Sneaky thief decides to be upfront

A 26-year-old man was robbed of his MP3 player and cash Tuesday, cops said. The man was walking near Eighth and Market streets at 5:30 a.m. when a 25-year-old crook snuck up from behind and reached into the man’s pocket, taking his wallet, police said. Scuffle escalates into stabbing

Three men in their 30s attacked two other men in their 30s in the 300 block of Jefferson Street on Monday night, cops said. The three hooligans got into a physical altercation with the victims around 8 p.m. that escalated when one of the brutes pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the victims in the arm, police said. The ruffians fled the scene and no arrests have been made, cops said.

A 33-year-old woman in a fight with a 32-year-old man was robbed Monday, police said. The two were seen fighting at Turk and Laguna streets around 6 p.m., cops said. Property stolen while residents sleep

A series of Tuesday morning burglaries spooked several bleary-eyed residents, police said. The first incident happened some time between midnight and 8:30 a.m. in the unit block of Dakota Street, cops said. Someone entered the dwelling of a 30-year-old woman while she was sleeping. When she woke up, she noticed her cell phone and some baby clothes were missing, police said. According to police, there was no point of entry and all the doors were locked.
