Rough crew robs, intimidates teens

Three teenaged boys were harassed, robbed and held against their will by two teenaged girls and a boy Monday, police said. Around 1:30 a.m., two of the victims, aged 17, were confronted by the terrible trio of teenaged punks, aged 16-19, at a park near the 2700 block of Clay Street, cops said. For some reason, the victims called a 16-year-old friend to join them at the park, police said.

Meat thief suffers heart attack

A shoplifter suffered a heart attack after he was detained for stealing meat and coffee at a San Francisco Safeway on Thursday, police said.Around 9:20 a.m., an employee told police the man placed “various meats and coffee into his cart,” stuffed the items in a jacket, then walked out of the store in the 4900 block of Mission Street.

Man sentenced to 19 years for rape

A rapist was slapped with a 19-year state prison sentence Friday for attacking a vitamin saleswoman at his Redwood City home.Prosecutors are calling it a stiff sentence, saying they had sought only a 12-year term for Ricardo Mendez, 61, who was found guilty Nov. 16 on multiple felony counts including forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and sexual penetration.

Bandits strongarm employees to open safe

A business on the 1600 block of Tennessee Street was robbed Wednesday, cops said. Two men in their early 30s were allowed into the business around 2:50 p.m., when one of them pulled out a gun and ordered one of the four employees there to open the safe, police said. The crooks grabbed blank checks, cash and debit card and fled in a green Chevy, cops said. No one was injured in the incident and no arrests have been made.

Teens rob 15-year-old’s cash, books

Two teenage punks robbed a 15-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon — and they didn’t just steal her cash and cell phone, but also some books, police said. The young men, ages 17 or 18, followed the girl as she walked home near the intersection of Mission and Silver streets around 2:45 p.m., police said. One of the punks grabbed hold of the girl while the other took her belongings, cops said. The girl lost money, her cell phone a debit card and books, police said.

Police say a gay issues flyer that was set ablaze at a San Francisco middle school Thursday morning was not a hate crime as cops originally reported.A 15-year-old girl with mental health issues set fire to the flyer in a third-floor bathroom at James Denman Middle School, causing an evacuation, authorities said.

An allegedly violent shoplifter took San Francisco cops on a wild chase Wednesday — on his bicycle, police said.The 38-year-old Western Addition man stole six bottles of liquor from the Albertson’s grocery store in the North of the Panhandle neighborhood, police said. Maiden Lane – an alleyway off Union Square – is filled with high-end shopping including Chanel and Escada, Yves St. Laurent and Diptyque. It is runs from Stockton Street to Kearny Street between Geary Boulevard and Post Street.

A 57-year-old woman was robbed while sitting in her car in the Tenderloin on Tuesday.The thug claimed to have a gun, but never showed it during the afternoon heist near Leavenworth Street and Golden Gate Avenue, an intersection known for rampant drug-dealing, police said.

Man found stabbed in Tenderloin

A 24-year-old man was stabbed with either a screwdriver or a knife early Thursday morning during an argument in the Tenderloin.Cops responded to the unit block of Taylor Street around 1 a.m. and found the man with a puncture wound in his abdomen. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. The injury was not life-threatening, police said.A 26-year-old suspect is in custody. A weapon was not recovered, police said.
