Skateboarder acquitted in cop-punch case

A 23-year-old skateboarder was acquitted of battery charges Tuesday stemming from an altercation with two off-duty cops last summer. On June 26, Matthew Hoyt, of San Francisco, was riding his skateboard in the Civic Center area when a car driving behind him “began furiously honking,” he testified in court, according to the Public Defender’s Office.

A woman told police that thug robbers slapped her, dragged her on concrete and then ran over her legs with a car during a harrowing heist at the Glen Park BART station on Saturday.Around 7:35 p.m., the victim was waiting for the bus across from the station when one of the suspects, a woman in her 20s, “asked her if she was ready” before abruptly slapping her across the face, police said.

Crooks get colds, too.A man was arrested for stealing $200 worth of cold medicine from a San Francisco Safeway store around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. A store worker saw him stuff “numerous boxes of merchandise” down the side of his pants at the store in the 4900 block of Mission Street, police said.Cops were called after the suspect walked out the store without paying.The suspect was cited for the theft and can expect a court date, police said.

Car full of thugs wasn't just clowning around

A car full of thugs drove up to a 32-year-old man at Mission Street and Santa Marina Avenue Monday night around 10:30 p.m., got out of their car and robbed him, SFPD said. The thug who did the dirty work jumped out of the vehicle from the back seat wielding a silver revolver. He demanded the victim’s money and rifled through his pockets, grabbing a cell phone and wallet, police said.

Victim finds himself against a wall and without a wallet

A 40-year-old man was thrown against a wall and robbed at gunpoint in the 100 block of Loehr Street on Monday, SFPD said. The hoodlum, described by police as between the ages of 20 and 30, approached the victim holding a gun around 8 p.m. He then pushed the victim against the wall and took the man’s wallet and cash and fled, police said. A 44-year-old woman was slashed in the face by a 35-year-old woman at Turk and Jones streets Monday, SFPD said.The older woman approached the younger woman around 3 p.m. and started arguing with her. Police hunt sticky thief

Cops are hunting a crook that uses glue to rob ATM customers. Around 3 p.m. Friday, police were called about a thief that had applied glue to the buttons of an ATM machine at the Bank of America at Fell and Broderick streets, police said. The suspect then waited for customers who did not know how to use the ATM’s touch screen to leave their debit cards in the machine while they sought help from a bank employee, police said.

A 21-year-old man was grazed by a bullet Monday evening near the public housing projects of the Mission district. The victim, a black male and a resident of Sacramento, was standing in a group in front of the housing projects at Valencia Street and Rosa Parks Lane when a suspect approached them and fired on them, according to San Francisco Police Lt. Troy Dangerfield. The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m.

Man killed during Lower Haight brawl ID'd

Anthony Jones, 53, has been identified as the man who was stabbed to death Friday during a vicious brawl in the Lower Haight neighborhood, authorities said.Jones was stabbed after he brutally beat a 43-year-old man with a shovel in the 500 block of Page Street after 10:30 a.m. The 43-year-old then fatally stabbed Jones, witnesses said.
