Craigslist sting nets bevy of bikes

San Francisco police said they arrested two youths and recovered 21 stolen bicycles from an Ingleside district home Tuesday after responding to a Craigslist advertisement.Police at the Mission Station announced the recovery via Twitter on Wednesday, offering a link with pictures of the stolen bicycles in the hope that their owners will reclaim them.

Arrest made in Bayview homicide

A suspect was arrested Monday in connection with last week’s stabbing death of Luther Robinson in the Bayview, police said Wednesday. Robinson, 54, was reportedly involved in an altercation with the suspect near Mendell Plaza at Third Street and Palou Avenue when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed Robinson to death.A candlelight vigil was held for Robinson on Wednesday night, the victim’s nephew Dwayne Robinson said.

A man was assaulted and robbed in the Mission on Tuesday, police said. The 28-year-old victim was walking near 17th and Mission streets around 11:25 p.m. when he was attacked by two men in their late 20s, police said. Two men were shot and another was fired upon during a robbery in The City at the start of President’s Day Weekend, police said. The first shooting happened Friday around 3:10 p.m. in the Lower Haight, police said. A 21-year-old man was sitting in a car in the unit block of Potomac Street when he was shot several times by a suspect described as a man in his 20s. The shooter fled on foot to a black, four-door car waiting around the corner.

Woman robbed of $10,000 in broad daylight in South City

A woman was robbed of more than $10,000 after cashing a check at a bank in South San Francisco on Saturday, police said. The woman was robbed as she walked on  El Camino Real toward Southwood Drive about 4:15 p.m. The crook leaped out of a van, pushed her to the ground and then grabbed her backpack with the cash. He then pointed a gun at her and told her not to call the police or he would kill her, police said. He fled in the van south on El Camino Real.

Man's cries for help ignored as he lay dying on Mission district sidewalk

A man’s agonizing cries for help went unanswered as he lay dying on a Mission district sidewalk early Sunday. Neighbors didn't call police until about five hours after Richard Sprague, 47, of San Francisco, was heard hollering "Help! 911! Help!" in the 100 block of Julian Avenue, near 15th Street. His pleas were heard between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Police were called to the scene at 7:42 a.m., Officer Albie Esparza said.
