The woman charged in the slaying of a San Francisco Bay area nursing student had her plea hearing delayed again, as her attorney announced that she recently gave birth.
Giselle Esteban had been expected Friday to enter her plea to murder charges. Her attorney, Andrea Auer, told the Hayward Daily Review that her client recently delivered a baby, but says the hearing delay was to allow more time for discovery in the case.
The plea hearing previously was postponed when a doctor determined the pregnant Esteban was not well enough to attend court.
Esteban is accused of killing 26-year-old Michelle Le, who went missing from a Hayward hospital parking lot on May 27. Her remains were found in a remote area on Sept. 17.
Authorities have said Esteban was jealous of her former friend.
