The 1-year-old Oakland boy who was shot during the filming of a rap music video is expected to be taken off life support after recent tests confirmed no brain activity.

Hiram Lawrence was being held by his father when several people opened fire on a small crowd gathered outside a west Oakland liquor store on Nov. 28. The child was shot in the head.

Six others, including Hiram's father, were wounded in the shooting.

The lawyer and pastor for Hiram's family say the toddler likely will be removed from life support Friday afternoon. Attorney Ivan Golde and the Rev. Roosevelt Taylor say the family made the decision after a private pediatrician agreed with doctors' findings that Hiram had no brain activity.

Police have detained six persons of interest, but not made any arrests.
