Man critically injured in Oakland afternoon shooting

A man suffered critical injuries Sunday afternoon after a shooting in Oakland, a police officer said.

The man was shot near the 1400 block of Seminary Avenue at about 4:35 p.m., Oakland police Officer J. Moore said.

Responding paramedics took the man to a hospital to undergo surgery for his gunshot wounds, he said.

The victim’s injuries were last known to be critical, but it is unclear if they are life threatening, Moore said.
