Six people were hospitalized when a van collided with an Alameda-Contra Costa Transit bus in Oakland on Thursday afternoon, according to a spokesman for the bus agency.
The bus was traveling west on Foothill Boulevard at the intersection with 5th Avenue about 4:30 p.m. Thursday when a van traveling north on Fifth Avenue apparently ran a red light, AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said.
The bus then broadsided the van, Johnson said.
He said four passengers and the drivers of the bus and the van were all taken to a local hospital, but he didn’t know the nature and severity of their injuries.
The accident is still under investigation, Johnson said.
