A bicyclist suffered major injuries after colliding with a car in San Jose this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The cyclist was struck in the 4100 block of Sierra Road at about 4:10 p.m., CHP Sgt. John Carman said.
Carman said the cyclist was struck during the Tour of California, a race which began Monday in Nevada City, stretches more than 800 miles through California, and finishes May 22 in Thousand Oaks.
Carman was not able to confirm if the cyclist was participating in the race.
No other information was immediately available.
