San Bruno makes cranes, raises funds for quake victims in Japanese sister city

City officials, Parkside Intermedia School students and the San Bruno Lions Club raised money for Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims in San Bruno's sister city of Narita City, Japan Thursday by folding 1,000 origami cranes and collecting donations.

Japanese legend holds that anyone who folds 1,000 cranes will be granted a wish.

San Bruno has had a "sister city" relationship with Narita City for more than 20 years.
