A man was fatally shot in Oakland on Wednesday night during what may have been a robbery, police said.

Police responded to the 1400 block of Sixth Avenue near International Boulevard around 8 p.m., Officer Kroushour said.

The victim died at a local hospital and no suspect was identified as of 6 a.m., Kroushour said.

No further details of the investigation were immediately available.
