LAS VEGAS — A teenager who pleaded guilty in the 2008 shooting death of a Las Vegas high school freshman has been sentenced to up to life in prison.
Under a plea agreement, the earliest 17-year-old Gerald Davison could be released from prison is in 28 years. Davison pleaded guilty in July to first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. He was sentenced on Monday.
Christopher Privett, a 15-year-old Palo Verde High School freshman, was killed in a drive-by shooting in February 2008 while walking home from school. Davison was accused of shooting from a car into a crowd of people after gang symbols were flashed.
At Monday's hearing Davison apologized to the Privett family.
