LOS ANGELES — A San Gabriel Valley attorney has been charged with embezzling some $350,000 from his clients.
Deputy District Attorney Renee Cartaya says Ronald Gottschalk of Arcadia pleaded not guilty Tuesday to two counts of grand theft by embezzlement.
Cartaya says the 66-year-old lawyer pocketed $240,000 in settlement monies belonging to nine people he represented in a civil lawsuit in 2007, and $118,000 from a client who hired him to manage the estate of a deceased relative in 2005.
Gottschalk's bail was set at $556,000. A preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 26.
