BALTIMORE — Former Republican Gov. Robert Ehrlich remains uncertain about his political plans.
Ehrlich said last month that he would decide whether to run again for governor based on how his party fared in gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey.
Republican candidates won both those contests on Tuesday.
But Ehrlich told WBAL-AM on Wednesday that while those wins are relevant, Maryland is a different state, and the election is a year away.
He says he'll make his decision public early next year.
An announced candidate for governor, Towson lawyer Mike Pappas, says he'll quit the race and will support Larry Hogan, who was Ehrlich's appointments secretary.
