RENO, NEV. — The mini-documentary on the series of earthquakes that rattled the Reno area last year will be featured Thursday night on the National Geographic Channel.

The swarm of more than 1,000 small quakes centered in the Mogul area just west of town shook the region from the end of February into May 2008.

The 4.7 magnitude temblor on April 26 was the Reno area's largest in more than 50 years. It dumped cans off shelves, knocked pictures off walls and sent rocks off hillsides on the eastern front of the Sierra.

Two days earlier, a 4.2 magnitude quake shook downtown buildings, cracked windows and damaged roof tiles.

The "Naked Science" airs at 10 p.m. It includes interviews with researchers studying the unusual seismic activity at the University of Nevada, Reno.
