Teen victim identified in Western Addition shooting

SAN FRANCISCO — A 17-year-old boy has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting late Friday night, according to the San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of McAllister and Laguna streets around 11:20 p.m., police said.

Arriving officers and medical personnel found two victims shot. Both were taken to an area hospital.

Xavier Gillette, 17, died at the hospital, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

The other victim was listed in serious condition but is expected to survive, police said.

Suspect information was not available.
