Public universities seeking more funding

UC System President Mark Yudof and California State University Chancellor Charles B. Reed are seeking more money to run the state’s public universities. Yudof says his 10-campus system needs an additional $913 million in state funding for the 2010-11 school year, while Reed’s 23-school operation needs $884 million. Those proposals would help UC San Francisco and San Francisco State operate.
