Possible homicide in Crocker-Amazon Friday night

By: Brent Begin
November 7, 2009

Homicide inspectors are investigating what appears to be the beating death of an unidentified man Friday night in Crocker-Amazon.

Officers received a call at about 9:50 p.m. reporting that two men were beating someone sitting inside a car at the intersection of Munich and Cordova streets, according to SFPD spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams.

When they arrived, they found a victim suffering from injuries, Williams said. Paramedics transported the man to San Francisco General Hospital and he was pronounced dead at about 10:45 p.m.

Homicide inspectors and officers canvassed the area for information following the death.

Further details were not immediately available, and the medical examiner had not identified the man. If the death is declared a homicide, it will be the 41st in The City in 2009.
