A man was struck and killed by a Caltrain in Redwood City this evening, the second fatality on Caltrain tracks today, a spokeswoman said.
At about 5:45 p.m. a northbound Caltrain struck and killed the man on the tracks between Maple and Walnut streets, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.
Trains are being single-tracked in the area and commuters should expect significant delays.
The crash came about two hours after Altamont Commuter Express train No. 4 struck and killed a woman on the tracks between Julian Street and De La Cruz Boulevard in San Jose. That crash happened at about 3:40 p.m. and caused delays of up to 90 minutes.
