Mehserle trial location to be decided today

SAN FRANCISCO — The site of the former BART police officer Johannes Mehserle’s murder trial is scheduled to be announced today. Alameda County Superior Court Judge Morris Jacobson is expected to decide between Los Angeles or San Diego counties. Jacobson ruled last month that Mehserle would not get a fair trial in Alameda County. Mehserle, 27, is charged in the New Year’s Day shooting death of 22-year-old Oscar Grant III.

must be nice to be able to kill someone by shooting them in the back, have it on video, get bail, and then not even be tried in the county you committed the crime. oh, yeah, he's a cop and odds are he'll get off scott free like every other cop does when they kill unarmed people. the deck is stacked for cops to kill and get away with it

i agree this guy is a piece of crap and should get tried and fried in alameda. these officers only uphold admiralty law, not common law.

Accident or not, if a citizen shot a cop in the back they would have been tried and convicted and serving their life sentence by now.

Ironic that Grant spent almost as many years in San Quentin than Mehserle did in college working towards a degree and examiner, chron and others want to immortalize Grant as he holds the baby all the time in the news..... and Mehserle (who looks great in a suit file photo) is shown in that awful jailhouse garb. No intent, Mehserle walks!
$500 to anyone who can produce the Grant picture that has been now modified showing Grant flashing his gang signs while holding the baby!
