Gavin Newsom to speak at Alzheimer's summit

San Francisco’s mayor will speak at the first Alzheimer’s Dementia Summit today, held at City Hall. The meeting is sponsored by the Family Caregiver Alliance, a nonprofit agency dedicated to assisting those who care for elderly loved ones. In December 2008, Newsom appointed a panel to investigate the effects the approaching “age wave” may have in relation to Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
