Couple fighting neighbors over solar panels have hearing Wednesday

The Upper Haight resident and his wife will defend their rooftop solar installation at a Board of Appeals hearing Wednesday. The couple spent four years saving nearly $90,000 for the panels, but neighbors filed formal opposition to the project, saying the solar array is not in keeping with the character of the neighborhood and presents a possible danger if pieces fall off.
