BART to hand out coffee coupons

Staff Report
September 22, 2008

SAN FRANCISCO — To thank riders, BART will give out 50,000 coupons from 6 to 9 a.m. Tuesday. The vouchers can be redeemed for a cup of coffee or tea and a half-pound of free-trade-certified coffee beans at Tully’s Coffee. Tully’s donated the freebies, estimated to be worth $500,000, and will do one more event before the year ends. However, riders can’t actually enjoy their hot drinks on BART — it’s still against the rules to do so while riding the subway.
