SAN FRANCISCO — Authorities today identified the victim of a fatal pedestrian crash in San Francisco on Oct. 9 as 73-year-old Betty Blake.

Blake, a city resident, was struck at about 9:15 p.m. at Van Ness Avenue and Bush Street.

The medical examiner's office was unable to identify her until this past Wednesday.

Police said Blake was walking westbound on Bush Street when a vehicle going northbound on Van Ness Avenue struck her in the crosswalk.

The driver, who had a green light according to police, stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

Blake was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

An investigation into the crash is still ongoing, police said.
