SAN FRANCISCO — Muni’s chief Nathaniel Ford and Mayor Gavin Newsom released a draft plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within The City’s transportation sector, a requirement of a 2007 ballot measure.

The Municipal Transportation Agency’s 2009 Climate Action Plan draft details the polices, programs, goals and funding to reduce polluting carbon emissions.

"We know that we need to improve Muni and make the bicycle and pedestrian environments more attractive to encourage people to get out of their cars to meet our ambitious goals," Ford said.

The public can review the document at 1 South Van Ness Ave. or www.sfmta.com/climate.
