BART director named new board president

Thomas Blalock, the longtime BART director was unanimously elected Thursday to fill the post of board president. Blalock, who has been on the Board of Directors since 1994 and previously served as president in 2000 and vice president in 1999 and 2007, will replace Gail Murray. Director James Fang was elected to serve as his vice president. Both men assumed their positions directly after the vote.
