Bonnie is the co-chair and founder of the California Pacific Medical Foundation’s “Wishes for Wellness” fundraising event, which is scheduled for tonight at Bimbo’s in The City.
What is “Wishes for Wellness”? What we really wanted to do was have an event that gave people the opportunity to say thank you to the physicians. In doing so, we decided we were just going to off-the-cuff honor two physicians. While speaking with the first two, we started learning about things they thought were important needs and services that would be wonderful to have funding for.
What are some of the wishes on the list? This year, they’re asking for money to be given to families to help them with the child development center.
How did you come up with the name? I’m going to say that my co-chair who helped found the event, Sharmin Bock, came up with the name.
How has the event grown? It started as a lunch event. The foundation and hospital have been very supportive. I know it has raised millions in the last few years.
