San Francisco entrepreneur Sean Shakirov just launched a personal chauffeur service called My Shofer in the Bay Area.

What is My Shofer? Our concept is a little different than your traditional transportation service. Instead of hiring a car, you’re actually hiring a driver — a driver that cannot only take you places, but can also run your errands, and you don’t actually have to be a passenger in the car. The driver will do whatever you want in that one hour of time.

Give an example of when someone might want to use My Shofer. We have a service called Shofer For Your Kids. We help professionals who are at work for eight hours a day, we pick up their kids and take them to any after-school activities and then take them back home. So in comparison to students parents hire to drive for a part-time job, we are a licensed, bonded and insured company and we provide a reliable service.

You also have a service for people who don’t want to drive because they’ve been drinking? Say you drove to a party and had something to drink, or there was a gathering at work and you had Champagne or wine and you just don’t want to drive back home, but you also don’t want to leave your car downtown and get a ticket the next morning. You call us and we’ll call you a chauffeur, who would drive your car home with you.
