What is Taste of the Nation?

Taste of the Nation is a benefit ... to fight hunger. One hundred percent of the proceeds go back to benefit our local community in San Francisco. Share Our Strength has been around for many years and is an effort to make sure no kid in America grows up hungry.

How many kids are hungry?

There are almost one in four kids in the U.S. growing up hungry. That stat is staggering. Hunger is an invisible thing — you don’t know if a kid is hungry based on outside appearance.

What are the Bay Area statistics?

Approximately 16 percent of households with kids have food hardships in the Bay Area. In California, 17 percent of kids under 17 are food-insecure — they don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

How many other events like this are there?

We are in 40 cities across the nation.
