The Village Project, a nonprofit focusing on enrichment and education in the Western Addition, held their seventh annual "Mardi Gras San Francisco Style" on Tuesday at Fillmore Plaza. Click on the photo to see the slideshow.

Hundreds gathered in Fillmore Plaza to celebrate Mardi Gras San Francisco Style on Tuesday afternoon.

The Village Project organized the seventh annual event in order to continue their mission to bring cultural enrichment and education to the city's Western Addition.

The event offered free music followed by a New Orleans-style processional leading to a masquerade ball in honor of Fat Tuesday. The non-profit's celebration welcomed costumes, dancing, and, of course, colorful beads for all.
