The 49ers' wide receiver Michael Crabtree will not face charges in connection with an alleged sexual assault in San Francisco, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office announced Friday.

The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that after a “thorough investigation” it is not pressing charges at this time against San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

Crabtree, 25, was accused by a woman of sexually assaulting her in the W Hotel in downtown San Francisco on Jan. 13 after the team beat the Green Bay Packers at home in Candlestick Park.

“The San Francisco Police Department - Special Victims Unit completed and submitted a thorough investigation of the allegations against Michael Crabtree,” the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office said Friday in a statement. “Following a review of all the evidence, my office has determined that no charges will be filed against Michael Crabtree at this time.”
