A bed bug flash mob of 20 people gathered at the Travelodge at 1707 Market St to sing, dance and deliver a message to the motel about the treatment of former occupant Kathy Galves.

After her home was foreclosed on, Galves, 67, resided at the motel for over 3 months in a room that was said to be infested with bed bugs. Motel owner Dave Patel agreed to repay Galves a partial refund of $1,821.00, which is money she has not seen.

"I have no money to buy food for myself or my dog Betty. I was born and raised in San Francisco. I have never been in this situation before," Galves said.

Poor Magazine advocated on behalf of Galves and they continue to help her find a home.
