The second annual Canstruction San Francisco showcases 14 unique structures made entirely of canned food. Originally started in New York in 1992, the competition now spans across the globe with more than 140 cities world-wide.

This year’s theme is “The CANnes Film Festival” where each structure is based around legendary films and cinematic themes from Star Wars to 3D.

With each structure taking an average of six to 12 hours to build and 3,000 to 5,000 cans, these marvels of architecture will be on display at the One Market Street lobby for the rest of the week, where the thousands of canned goods used to build these structures will be donated to the San Francisco Food Bank.
