Muni officials and workers celebrated with members of the public Wednesday during a service inauguration ceremony for the newly restored Powell Street Cable Car No. 26, built in 1890. Workers who participated in the restoration, which took nearly two years, were on hand for Wednesday’s rollout. The ceremony was held at the Cable Car Barn and Powerhouse at Washington and Mason streets as part of Muni’s centennial celebration.
