Civic Center also held a viewing party when the Giants played in the 2010 World Series.

San Francisco is hosting a viewing party for Game 4 of the World Series on Sunday evening as the San Francisco Giant look to take the title against the Detroit Tigers.

The Mayor's Office announced Saturday night that The City will publically broadcast the game in Civic Center Plaza in front of City Hall on Sunday at 5 p.m.

The viewing party will be an alcohol-free event, according to the Mayor's Office, and they said San Francisco Police Department officers and officials from the Recreation and Park Department will be on hand to enforce a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol.

But Mayor Ed Lee also encouraged people from across the Bay Area to visit pubs and eateries to view the game.

“I also want to encourage fans from across the Bay Area to watch the game at their neighborhood restaurants and bars,” Lee said in a written statement. “Let’s lift our local economy and small businesses while we’re boosting the Giants to a World Series victory.”
